Transpose Master with ZSphere Rigging!
Pose rigged character in Blender. Export it into Zbrush, sculpt it altering vertex count (Sculptris Pro, Dynamesh, etc). Import it back into. Rigging is the process where a 3D model is given some sort of skeleton so that it can be posed. In ZBrush this is done using a ZSphere structure. My idea was to pose this creature on Blender, with a normal armature and then using "parent with automatic weights". Of course i know that.

I apologise, but, in my opinion, you are not right. I suggest it to discuss.

3dcpack in zbrush

This will make it easier to sculpt them into a fist from the start. This would preserve the pose library functionality, as it remained intact on the duplicate. I have tried doing exactly this by moving bones in edit mode, but the result was simply a stretched mess. You can rig an existing mesh with a ZSphere armature, allowing you to pose the mesh by manipulated the underlying armature. The rig was done with the Auto Rig Pro addon.
